The Périgord, a region topped with sleepy villages, cultural cities, caves and 1001 castles
Lanquais:
A village where time dwelt, only 500 inhabitants fully rated by the preservation of monuments
Bidou, a paradise for hikers, kayak or mountain bikers.
Enjoy an exuberant nature, fishing, horse riding or take a trip by canoe on the Dordogne or the Vézère.
Or do you prefer cycling or hiking .... all ever heard of a ‟GR”??
These letters are European used by hikers and mountain bikers.
They mean Grande Randonnée which actually is long ride or "long-distance trails".
The genesis of the long-distance trails in France goes back to 1947.
The trails are marked by volunteers.
They traverse only the most beautiful places of Europe with white-red marks.
Most likely you have come across these characters already somewhere on your walks.
Meanwhile, there are more than 80,000 km GR paths through the whole of Europe!
One of these nature trails (GR Nr 6) runs next to our House.
The ‟GR” trails are also very popular with mountain bikers.
Don't forget to bring your mountain bike.
If possible we'll bike together or you can use my GPS with the routes that I regularly do ...
